2017-04-21_GgG_LogoThe Gesellschaft gegen Gewichtsdiskriminierung e.V. (German Association against Weight Discrimination) is a socio-political association that aims to improve the social acceptance of fat people and to counteract discrimination based on body weight. It was founded in 2005. We do not regard fatness as a deficit. Rather, we understand fatness as a human rights issue. We provide information and advice, draw public attention to the topic, point out alternatives to discriminatory language and demeanor and do preventive work against weight discrimination. Since 2016, the German Association against Weight Discrimination has been campaigning for the inclusion of weight into the General Equal Treatment Act (GETA) and into State antidiscrimination laws.

BewegungsstiftungBewegungsstiftung is a community foundation based in Verden near Bremen. It supports social movements working for ecology, peace and human rights with grants and advice. Bewegungsstiftung is supported by over 240 endowment donors from all over Germany. We provide support where others stop: in areas of protest and public action. We do not act charitably, as many other foundations do, but tackle social grievances from the root by supporting social movements as motors of political change.
