Who is the conference for?
The conference is for academics, civil society organisations, public service providers, practitioners and policy makers who are working on ways to better understand and combat hate and hate crime. It will provide a unique opportunity to engage with colleagues from around the world who will come together to discuss issues which are common to those working in the area of hate crime, as well as provide an opportunity to generate links and networks with those practicing and working in other jurisdictions. It will be inclusive of all sectors and will use a variety of formats to promote discussion and engagement across all attendees and speakers, including: discussions sessions, workshops and group based problem solving activities, and seminar papers/presentations. Plenary papers will also be delivered by leading international scholars and policy practitioners. Debates and discussions will encourage dialogue across sectors, deepening our understanding of hate and hate crime, and measures that can be used to combat it.

By attending the conference, you will have an opportunity to:
  • engage with colleagues from across disciplines and practices on issues facing you in your everyday work;
  • exchange ideas and problem solve with people from across cultures, communities and countries;
  • hear about cutting edge research from across the world;
