Console-ing Passions 2017

Panel, Issues of Fat and/or Body Size in Media

Seeking participants for a panel on issues of fat and/or body size in media for 2017 Console-ing Passions: International Conference on Television, Video, Audio, New Media, and Feminism. Conference is to be held July 27-29, 2017, at East Carolina University in Greeneville, North Carolina. Please note: conference is focused on all media BUT cinema. Panel currently has 2 participants, both feminist scholars working in media, body studies, and fat studies. Panel is open to a variety of related topics, but especially interested in work connected to people of color and men/masculinities.

If interested in participating, please email Jennifer Lynn Jones j.l.jones@me.com by Friday, October 28th, with a short (250 word or less) proposal and bio. Decisions about participants will be made by Tuesday, November 1st. Final proposals will be due 1 week later, on Tuesday, November 8th. Forum proposal for the conference is due Tuesday, November 15th.
