The latest ‘anti-obesity’ campaign from Cancer Research UK is even more stigmatising than their last one, an impressive feat. It is also scientifically unsound and makes totally unfounded claims. A group of scientists, healthcare professionals, and advocates penned an open letter to Michelle Mitchell, Chief Executive of CRUK. You can read it here if you’re interested. There is also a petition to stop this insupportable advertising campaign, which has over 6000 signatories at the time of writing. You can also say why you are signing, including any personal stories – these will be passed on to CRUK. Access the petition here and please share widely.
