FYI.
The Foundation for the Sociology of Health and Illness invites applications for the Mildred Blaxter postdoctoral fellowships. These enable individuals who have recently completed a PhD degree in the field of sociology of health and illness to disseminate the findings of their thesis through publications and presentations, or to develop a new programme of work related to their thesis.
Fellowships are not restricted to UK or EU citizens, but applicants must have been awarded their PhD by a UK university, and must be in their first postdoctoral post but may have up to one year of active postdoctoral experience.
The PhD must have been awarded on the basis of a research thesis. Applicants must be supported by the head of a department of the university as well as a mentor.
Fellowships cover full salary costs for one year, including on-costs, usually at spine point 30, plus £2,500 for research and conference expenses. London weighting is payable where appropriate.
Deadline: 31 Mar 2019
