FYI. Postdoc position in Grenoble, France (starting Jan 2017)

FYI.

Deadline for applications: 4th December 2016

The SENS Laboratory of the University Grenoble Alpes, France (https://laboratoire-sens.univ-grenoble-alpes.fr), is hiring a postdoctoral researcher (full time for 6 months, with possibility to extend to 12 months) in early 2017.

The main task will consist in implementing a European H2020 project. This project is funded by the EIT Health and coordinated by VISEO, a company specialized in innovative technologies, and will involve academic and non-academic partners from France, Spain and the Netherlands. The goal of the project is to develop a mobile application to increase obese patients’ long-term engagement in physical activity. This development will be based on socio-cognitive theoretical models of motivation and weight stigma. The postdoctoral researcher may also be involved in other projects of the SENS Laboratory, which conducts research aimed at better understanding the motivational determinants of physical activity participation among vulnerable (e.g., older adults, obese patients, women) and underexplored (e.g., youth) populations. Typical tasks will involve review of the literature, collaboration with VISEO to develop theory-based mobile application, data collection, and data treatment.

We are looking for a motivated candidate who can join our collaborative team. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in social psychology (more particularly theories of motivation, stigmatisation, and/or health behaviors), in quantitative methods (more particularly experimental designs and/or correlational designs), and strong English skills. PhD must have been awarded prior to taking up the position. The position is open to candidates of any nationality.

University Grenoble Alpes is located in the Rhône-Alpes region, which is the 2nd French region in terms of research activities. It is one of the major actors that make the city of Grenoble an internationally recognized scientific center.

Interested applicants can contact Aïna Chalabaev (aina.chalabaev@univ-grenoble-alpes.fr) and Philippe Sarrazin (philippe.sarrazin@univ-grenoble-alpes.fr) with any questions. To apply, please submit your motivation letter, detailed CV, and two references to Aïna Chalabaev and Philippe Sarrazin, no later than December 4, 2016.
